The Score 900, a story of design

The story behind the Score 900 began three years ago. It all started with the desire to offer expert players a high-quality boot that was comfortable, hard-wearing and light and which responded to the demands of playing at their level. Our design team joined forces with our ambassadors and rugby-playing Decathlon employees to make the boot a reality. After creating more than ten prototypes, we are delighted to bring you this lightweight boot, designed from scrum-halves and fly-halves.

Your comfort is our priority.

In designing the Score 900, we based our work on one key area: your comfort. “We used a scanner to measure the feet of 700 rugby players, both children and adults, in the Lille area. We realised that rugby players have feet that are one size larger than the average in Europe,” said Raphaël, a product engineer at Offload. We then used this scientific research to design a boot offering maximum levels of comfort.

We are proud to bring you this boot, which has won over professional players such as Lyon fly-half Jean-Marc Doussin and Castres hooker Marc-Antoine Rallier, both of whom play in the Top 14. “These players have tested and approved the Score 900. When we got this positive feedback we said to ourselves that we weren’t far from achieving what we set out to do,” said William, a product manager at Offload.

Though light in weight, this is a hard-wearing boot

“To make a boot that is as light as possible but hard-wearing with it.” That was the challenge that our product engineer Raphaël set himself. The result is a sleek, snug fitting, one-piece boot that feels light. Small inlays on either side and a rigid sole make this a strong boot, allowing players to express themselves on the pitch.

Ball feel

Made with a fine material, the Score 900 feels like a second skin, giving you improved feel of the ball. That feel is enhanced by the pebbling on the front of the boot, which enhances grip when striking the ball.

You can adapt your level of traction and to the condition of the pitch by using Offload aluminium 11-13-15-18mm screw-in studs sold by Decathlon.
13mm rubber screw-in studs reference 8035462 are not compatible with this boot model.
