We created this durable base layer top for young rugby players, to wear in training and matches in cool or cold weather.R500 long-sleeved base layer keeps in warmth. It is close-fitting and wicks perspiration. The main fabric and reinforced seams withstand pulling when playing rugby.
Why wear a base layer?
The base layer is a snug fit to keep in your body heat. In winter, it will be your best ally for fighting the cold and training comfortably. It needs to be a tight fit so that draughts don’t get in. The base layer’s stretchy fabric lets you move freely. The fabric wicks away perspiration so you can train without feeling sticky.
What makes the R500 long-sleeved base layer so good for rugby?
This base layer is designed to meet rugby needs. Its seams have been reinforced to withstand pulling and tackling. The main fabric has also been specially selected for this purpose. It can stretch but remains sturdy when pulled and won’t get damaged when scraped during training. We have also added silicone bands on the sleeves. It gives a grippy helping hand when catching the ball.
Base layer top, product team, technical partners:
Our design team is made up of a product manager, an engineer, a garment designer and a style designer. They relied on feedback from our technical partners from the OMR (Olympique Marcquois Rugby – Fédérale 2) and the LMRCV (Rugby Villeneuve d’Asq – Honneur). Our partners help us improve our products by getting involved at every stage of the design process, and by validating them during tests that reproduce real-life playing conditions.
